For the last quarter of the year, we planned to start a series of liturgical catecheses in the church of St. Idzi in Krakow, at the foot of Wawel. After each of the catecheses we will pray during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and we will perform the Gregorian Compline. The first meeting is on October 20.

– A lot of catechesis has already been said about the history and theology of the Eucharist, a lot of books have been written and a lot of podcasts have been recorded, which, of course, does not mean that it is not worth talking about it even more – says Father Łukasz Miśko OP, who will preach the conferences. – This is the very rich nature of the liturgy, this mysterious cooperation between God and man in the mystery of the eternal Passover.

This time, however, we are going to approach this topic from a slightly different perspective.

– But what happens in a person? – outlines Father Miśko. – What is happening in me during the Holy Mass? How do I change, who do I become, when I surrender to the formative action of the Love of the Trinity, gradually shaping me not only through gestures and words, but through the vision of the world, spirit and matter, soul and body, eternity and time permeating the liturgy? Every baptized Christian is, in a way, a liturgist – called to participate in the priestly action of Christ himself. How does this more and more intentional participation in the liturgy of the Holy Trinity shape the theologian, ascetic and mystic in the disciple of Jesus?

Father Miśko will try to answer these questions during a series of catechesis in the church of St. Giles, at the foot of Wawel, which will take place on one of the Thursdays of the coming months: October 20, 2022 – topic: “Liturgist – theologian”, November 24, 2022 – “Liturgist – ascetic”, December 15, 2022 – “Liturgist – mystic”. Meetings start at 18:30, after the conference there will be adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Gregorian Compline.
