Product Description
“Jesus I Trust in You” is an album consisting of several well-known and often sung in Polish liturgical songs from the songbook “Niepojęta Trójco”, which we released this time with pilgrims from all over the world who do not know our language in mind. A dozen pieces in English, three in Spanish and a few in Latin: all together constitute a modest but very valuable sample of the renewal of liturgical music, which began in Krakow in 1985. The renewal movement was started by Dominicans from France and communities such as Taizé. It was also the moment when Polish brothers, with the help of professional composers and musicians, began to write their own songs, as well as to re-elaborate those that were already very firmly rooted in the Polish liturgical tradition.
The album “Jesus I Trust in You” is intended to be an invitation to our prayer community, to liturgical singing, which is one of the most beautiful forms of prayer we practice every day.
The project was supervised by Hubert Kowalski – conductor, choirmaster and composer, collaborator of the Polish Radio Choir, which gathered a vocal and instrumental ensemble consisting of people permanently involved in liturgical singing in the Basilica of the Holy Trinity in Krakow.
World Youth Day in Krakow in 2016 – a meeting of believers from almost every corner of the world became a unique opportunity to share what is most valuable in our local communities. The songs contained in the album were performed during the Holy Mass and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as part of the World Youth Day in the Arena of Mercy. We want the album to be not only a pleasant souvenir of the moments lived in Krakow, but also an incentive to use these songs in the liturgy celebrated in the universal Church.
