San Clemente Singing Brotherhood

The San Clemente Brotherhood is a male vocal group active since 2015 at the Dominican friary in Kraków. The members of the brotherhood share a common passion: singing, prayer, and discovering the treasures of early and traditional music and restoring them to their proper place – the liturgy, services and devotional singing gatherings. Through music they want to glorify God and help others experience the beauty of the liturgy.

San Clemente’s performances are not only concerts, but above all a profound form of prayer in song, combined with a spiritual experience. The members of the Brotherhood sing, among other things, Gregorian chant, polyphonic music and music of various local traditions: Corsican, Georgian and traditional Polish songs.

Since its beginnings the group has taken part in many of its own celebrations and events as well as those organized by the Dominican Liturgical Center, leading the singing at Masses and services, workshops and the Mysterium fascinans retreat, and performing together with the Choir of the Dominican Liturgical Center. Since September 2018 the ensemble has worked with our Center on a permanent basis.

In previous years the group’s spiritual guardians were Fr. Grzegorz Doniec OP and Fr. Wojciech Sznyk OP; currently it is Fr. Łukasz Miśko OP.
