On Saturday, October 29, Father Łukasz Miśko, OP from our Foundation led a one-day liturgical music workshop at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary in London. Workshop participants learned about the history of the Dominican liturgical renewal in Poland and learned 9 songs from the repertoire of the songbook Inconceivable Trinity, which they performed in the evening during the annual rosary procession.

About 40 people from London, Oxford, Cambridge and even distant Edinburgh took part in the workshop. Dominican music from Poland, translated into English by Father Miśko and his associates in the United States, was also an attractive proposition for the participants of the London workshops, combining tradition with modernity, subtle beauty with simplicity, which – as many of them mentioned in the conversation – can be difficult to be reconciled in the musical programs of the parishes and communities to which they belong. It is these features of the Polish Dominican approach to music in the liturgy that make our Foundation invited to conduct annual music workshops at the London sanctuary since 2017.

For the first time 5 years ago it was conducted by our longtime collaborator, composer and conductor Paweł Bębenek, from with the help of br. Marcin Dyjak OP. This year, it was a special joy for us that, apart from Fr. liturgical services offered by the Polish Dominicans.

We invite you to watch some recordings from this year’s rosary procession:
